Guest Speaker, Guests + weekend recap
The New England Carousel Museum | CRIS Radio
Our guest speaker this morning was Morgan Urgo, Executive Director of the New England Carousel Museum
Thanked Rotary for the $500 grant to purchase art supplies, and for the 2018 mini-grant for $987 to purchase table stools
Also received CT admission grant - which granted free admission to Bristol Residents - it's been very busy!
Hit goal in July + Aug with 1483 adults guests and 2336 children guests with an average of 35 kids and 22 adults a day
Having our Art studio quadrupled the time the family would stay at the museum!
Supplies were used for unicorn day, fairly houses +  tye-dye - also purchased cleaning supplies for the tables + buttons as a prize for the scavenger hunt to help kids engage with the collection
The drop-in craft was also very popular!

Bristol Mum Festival Weekend was a hit - the weather helped make it an enjoyable time for all.  We had lots of help from the Bristol Central High School Interact club at both the fair booth as well as the parade on Sunday.  We gave out little Gnome decorations and collected $90 in donations.  We passed out 100 tri-fold Bristol Rotary Club brochures!  On Sunday we handed out 50 handwritten invitations to join us at our next Rotary meeting with meeting time, date, and location - the interact students helped us fill out these cards and hand-deliver on the parade route.
Assistant Governor Brendan Goodrich visited our meeting - thanked us for being an active club!  He reads our weekly newsletter! heart
A 2017 Karl Schwartz scholarship winner, Jaymie Bianca visited our club. She thanked the club for the opportunity to go to college and end up debt-free. .
Both Jaymie + Morgan left with a little Gnome friend
Upcoming Events

John Cassidy- A friend that works as a docent at the naval base has offered to host one of our upcoming meetings.  Tours run Wednesdays + Thursdays - we would get a tour and then have lunch in captains quarters.
