Randy started by explaining how each club is unique - some clubs don't recite the 4-way test
He stressed the importance of membership, suggesting we do entrance interviews rather than exit interviews.  
Did you know Paul Harris was ahead of his time:

It is the entire club's responsibility to keep new members engaged -
we can do this by asking new members what their goals are and then 6 months later ask how are we doing
Randy shared that women were not officially allowed in Rotary until 1987
This year Rotary International president is a woman!

Randy shared that in his year as district governor his focus is education.
His wife is a childcare center director.  We learned about NAEYC certification, the importance of helping with scholarships, 
not all students are college material, sharing a story of his own honor student that went straight into carpentry and is successful
gave us ideas of how we could help child care centers with
Materials?  Computers? Playground equipment?

Brenden shared about Youth exchange.  
Opportunity for our club to host a student.
We would be the sign-off club for a student from Newington, and then responsible for housing international students, enrolling them in  HS,
providing a $2,000 stipend from the club, and chaperoning, 3 families from the school
the student would arrive in August
1st step is the screening

the festival of incredible edibles, and gingerbread houses.  Proceeds go to St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen,
Patti making a clock gingerbread themed...It's the most wonderful time of the year
