On Wednesday, August 11, 2021, Dave + Laura attended a District meeting focusing on Youth Exchange, Membership, and The Rotary Foundation Dave gave a nice summary of the meeting MEMBERSHIP: sharing that we are all responsible for bringing in one Rotarian - following Shekhar's message of "everyone brings one" ***shout out to Claudette for asking a fellow church member to visit our club*** It was suggested we put together an informative flyer - and/or put a sign-up - what does Rotary mean? for events idea: We look at demographics and choose who we want in the club - seek out a diverse group of people with different talents/interests and job titles! ACTION ITEM: Speak to the Trinity student at Claudettes table (scholarship award winner) and ask her if she would be interested in starting a Rotaract club YOUTH EXCHANGE: will begin in July 2022 - the idea of a virtual exchange was brought up - Dave explained that Jill Albright (Yarmouth Rotary Club) was working on that scenario. - Prisad suggested we link up with France, India, and Serbia (a plus that they speak English), ROTARY INTERNATIONAL / GLOBAL GRANTS - Prasad is very knowledgeable on this topic and shared the importance of donating to RI |
