Chief Morello answered a few questions:
Is the city cracking down on motor scooter violations? , Explained long-term study utilizing dash cameras, and future use of FLOCK program that would essentially geo fence Bristol, Southington currently uses this program https://www.flocksafety.com/articles
Do we have an influx of illegal aliens? I haven't seen the impact. We recently introduced 2 new officers, and now have 124, funding thru cannabis sales. Officers have a focus on mental wellness, they also follow up and connect those in need with helpful organizations
Do we have a foot patrol? Not at this time
Is there a trend of running stop signs and red lights? yes explained if cameras are used there may be an uptick in rear-end accidents.
Do students in the cadets program get backlash for being part of the program? Don't know about any negative treatment, no one knows you are in the program
