A small group of Rotary members joined together at Parkside Café for the weekly meeting.  There was no shortage of story telling and connecting.  We began the meeting by reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by the Rotary Four-Way Test.

Our meetings are open to the public and we are always looking for new members.

In the words of Martin Luther:

Guest Speaker: Ellyn Arter, Sales + Marketing Manager for KindCare at Bristol

Ellyns Update:

  • Ellyn began Kind Care in March, with Ellen having previously worked for Benchmark Senior Living.
  • The Bristol location is progressing well, with 89 assisted living units and 20 memory care units.
  • Current occupancy is at 47%, almost halfway full, with steady move-ins.
  • A new community is being built in Naugatuck, following the same all-inclusive model.

Key Highlights:

  • The community offers an all-inclusive pricing structure, which covers care, laundry, transportation, and dining.
  • At $4k per month, it’s a more affordable option compared to other places which charge around $10k.
  • Programs include happy hour and other resident activities.
  • Referrals primarily come from skilled nursing facilities.
  • The community operates on a private-pay basis and has no restrictions on visitations.

Program Director:

  • Jessica Zacano is the Program Director.

Interested individuals are encouraged to schedule a tour to learn more.

The Club is participating in The Bristol Bazaar Gingerbread House Decorating Contest

Our theme will be Areas of Service.  This will be a great way to share our activities with the community with a goal of having more people join our cause.

Patti's Dad service will be held from 10:30-11:30 on November 30th at Tierney Funeral Home (219 West Center St, Manchester), followed by a mass at noon at St. Bartholomew’s Church (East Middle Tpke, Manchester).

The total amount raised for Bristol was $25,010. This was matched at 25 cents per dollar for a grand total of $31,262.50. We will present the check to Zion Meals for Neighbors next week after the regular meeting.
