A Visit from Shelly Whitlock-Pope - Executive Director of Shepard Meadow

Shelly Pope, Executive Director of the Shepard Meadows Equestrian Center, Inc. began her talk thanking the Bristol Rotary Club for funding summer programs in the past!  To find out more about Shepard Meadows visit: 
The pandemic has brought challenges to youth - many families looking to Shepard Meadows to help support social-emotional needs. 
Children are depressed, anxious.  They have 10 therapeutic riding horses.  
We are welcomed to visit the center anytime...future plans may be to hold a meeting there!

We received 10 Mini-Grants applications requesting a total of $22,000.  Angelique has sent the applications to the committee through google docs - check your email. 

Mother's Day Flower Sale - Pick up of flowers will be May 7  + 8 (flyer below) If you need hard copies of the flyer - please see Patti at the American Clock and Watch Museum.  We will need helpers on both dates. 
Payments and forms are due back by April 23rd - we have 2 weeks!  Sign up genius to come!

Meet at Barnes Nature center.  We will clean up trails and along Shrub Road. 
This is our annual clean-up - bring gloves, loppers, trimmers
wear the rotary shirt if you have one - we may also receive city wide clean up shirts

Grand re-opening of Barnes nature center - May 22nd  - Spring Fair - public will have to pre-register - walk-in allowed on a limited basis.  We will have an info table about Rotary and sell pre-packaged "safe" food

Scholarship winners have been chosen by Scholarship America -  list of winners sent to Jim - scholarship winners should know if they won by Friday
  The tentative date for scholarship lunch/dinner - Sunday, June 13th

As of July 1st Dale will be stepping down as the Bristol Rotary Club Treasurer.  Dale has served in this role for many years and we are very thankful for his service.  This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to get more involved, join the Rotary board, and learn one of our club's most important jobs!  Dale will train you and we are very supportive :)  If you have questions about the position - call Dale at 860-841-3080.
