Our guest speakers Donna Osuch + Donna Koser shared updates on : Early Childhood Developments & Initiatives

Donna, the SRC liaison, has been actively involved in several new initiatives aimed at supporting early childhood education. One of the highlights is the receipt of a $4.5 million state grant for childcare, supporting over 400 families with full-day, full-year care. This progress is crucial as it addresses childcare challenges that were highlighted during the pandemic, including the achievement and preparation gaps faced by children who start school behind.

Donna's involvement extends to working with Bristol Early Childhood Collaborative, securing additional funding to improve early education services. As a part of ongoing efforts, there are committees focusing on infant and toddler care, the transition to kindergarten, and health initiatives.

Additionally, the 3rd Annual Family Fun Day, organized by BAIMES, is coming up on June 21st — a great opportunity for families to connect and enjoy some fun activities.

Early childhood education remains a crucial area, and these initiatives emphasize its importance in shaping a child's future.
